CYI is non-government organization founded in Belgrade in 2004. In 2005. CYI started program which includes work with street involved children and youth. Special educators and social workers who were involved in this project had considered that the inclusion is only possible if it’s based on voluntarity, trust, uncondeming, individual approach, accurate information, children participation and on respect of children’s rights. Not long after they had started this program in Serbia the coordination team has visited countries with similar programs for street involved children and youth and their protection. They’ve been in England, USA, Canada and Africa.
During last four years CYI has been working on development, implementation and improvement of program which would be used as role model for future programs of protection for street involved children.
