Voluntary work represents an expression of high level of consciousness and readiness to meet the needs of others and to improve life in a community by taking an active part in a society that we belong to. Volunteering is the way to make a positive change on our surroundings, to work along with our convictions based on principles of solidarity and companionship, but also to continually learn and improve our knowledge and skills. It is based on faith that no one is that poor or busy that he can’t help others.
On 5th of December 1985. General Assembly of UN declared this date as International voluntary Day, with the idea to motivate governments to edit, promote and stimulate voluntary engagement in their own countries.
